Discussing more than 35 different legal systems

During the Summer School, we provide our students with an introduction to more than 35 different legal systems, as well as European law in relation to private law. Additionally, students analyze and discuss case studies from a comparative perspective during workshops conducted in English, French, and German. Roundtable discussions are organized between legal experts and students on hot topics such as law and language, European harmonization of private law, consumer protection, law reform initiatives, etc. Every year, we invite several judges and justices since special attention is also given to the role of the judiciary and the differences in the style of judicial decisions between legal systems.

Scholarships

The Summer School itself does not provide scholarships. However, our experience shows us that scholarships for this kind of program do exist in many universities and countries around the world. We therefore encourage future students to inquire about the possibilities of scholarships in their country or university of origin. Our professors are also dedicated to provide any additional information if available. Students who are seeking information about scholarships are therefore encouraged to contact the professors of the program (see the Who's who page) directly.

Currently you can download our brochure from last year (2023). Our new brochure (2024) will be available for download as from February 2024.
